Praying She's a Good Influence

So everyone wants their kid to be the influencer and not the influencee, and if they do influence others hopefully they are an influence for good.  Well, maybe this was a little taste of what Mae will grow up into as we saw maybe a good sign for the future.  Mae's neighbor friends Addy and Carly came over for a "picnic."  That's when Mae wanted to stick with the routine. -T

The Maeflower - More Than Just a Thanksgiving Thing

We found Halloween is more fun with a 1-year old than it is with a 2 1/2-week old. Lindsey and Grandma Gayle busted out a great flower costume for Mae - thus creating our version of The Maeflower. We debuted it at the Ward Halloween Party and carried it through Halloween night. As long as she was distracted, she even kept the pedals on her head. -T

Now she's ready! We did end up sending a parent with her though
Her first house ever to trick-or-treat at...our neighbor Sue.
After staring at Sue for what seemed to be an hour, she finally got close enough to let her drop something in her bucket.
She wouldn't say thank you...but she made GREAT eye contact for minutes at a time with people which I think meant the same thing
15 minutes later we got to Theresa's house on the other side of us - Mae: "I'd rather have the gog."
"That wasn't a gog you just put in here."

40 minutes and 4 houses after we started...we were done collecting and she decided she wanted to pass out instead.

Although, I'm not sure why Theresa is trick-or-treating at her age

Meet the Neighbors

Meet our neighbors! First up is Duke (big) and Louie (little). They prove to be entertaining. Oh and that's Pepper in the back. He/she doesn't actually live there...just there for a visit. Following a trip across the yard is Marley (on right) and Danny Marie (Lindsey calls her Donny Marie), and well, they seem to be a little camera shy. Although, Marley did jump as soon as I pulled the camera away. By the way, I'm not really looking into the camera, so you might get dizzy. -T

These neighbors were not invited to live at our house, but they came anyway. Who knew sparrows built their nests like a dome?
