From Naps to Shoulder Shakes

Lately when I take Mae for walks it's been very hot. So, I squirt water on her. That leads to me wanting to spike her hair. Then, it just stays that way and, after naps especially, it's just funny. Once she "comes to" after her nap - she's usually pretty happy. You know she's happy when she does that famous "shoulder shake." -T

Mae! Wakeup! It's picture time!
She loves the spikey hair
She loves the FLAMING spikey hair!

A little hoo hoo hoo with some shoulder shakes
Do the shoulder shake!

A Roof Building Memorial Day - Completing Phase 3

On a very hot Memorial Day (with a broken air conditioner inside), we almost finished the roof. A few days later - we finished the rest. Yea for shady spots in the yard! -T

It looks good from here

Wuh oh...it seems a little long in some spots
Shingling in the shade

Long day stopping point
Phase 3 Complete

Cousin Care

Lindsey was tired of feeding Mae so she tried to find someone else to do it. Cameron stepped up. -T

(Technical difficulties with the sound...sorry...and sorry for the random vuvuzela sounds)

New People to Entertain

Mae loves to meet new people. Over Memorial Day weekend it was Great Uncle Gary, Great Aunt Karla, and First Cousin Once Removed Ally. Oh man...did you catch all that? Nailed it! -T

Always an instant hit

Testin' out the grass with G-Uncle Gary

No we didn't leave her...

...she was just the center of attention. All eyes on you, kid!
FCOR-Ally with our African Princess - OR with Mae wearing bloomers on her head
Chalk up another true Mae-lover

Time With the Momma

Mae LOVES to be with Mom - and I believe it goes both ways. Despite her moments of "cranky pantsness," Mae Mae is a pretty happy baby. -T

Nothing better than outside with Mom

Cousin Cameron loves Mae...ESPECIALLY Mae's face. Mom is always there for protection.

She likes the attention
Time with Mom is also a little safer. Dad accidentally dropped her in the water during bath time - nope, not dropped, just stopped holding her and she slid there. She didn't cry though!

Sometimes Mom let's Mae get into situations she can't get out of
Like rolling/crawling backwards under the bed

If she could crawl forward it wouldn't be a problem

I'm not allowed to put the video up of this - but this is Lindsey capturing Mae's "I'm pooping" face. The still shot isn't as much fun.

Ticklin' the Ivories

Mae likes to sit down with me when I poke around on the piano. She basically just likes to watch my fingers move and sound to come out from underneath them. It's a great time filler. Oh, and one of these days, Lindsey will realize she keeps shooting videos sideways - maybe. -T

"Look at me, Mom!"
"Everytime I move it makes noise! How crazy is that!?"
We're told she has long fingers so maybe she'll still be interested down the line

Starting a Hot Phase 3

Phase 3 - the roof - was done in some very hot temperatures. We're lucky this shed is in the shade or it couldn't have been done yet. -T

I had no idea how to even start a roof - that's why I wasn't in charge.

We welcome all visitors
That's not a chimney - that is me being productive
I think it looked cool like this and contemplated leaving it - or doing some sort of see through roof

It looks straight - and that's all that matters

We ran into some math problems - so we called it a day (although all the math added it up)

Phase 2 Continued

Between days of rain, we found time to continue on with the shed. We were concerned with some limbs that were above the shed. We cut down the small one and just hope for the best when it comes to the big one. Then, we made some noticeable progress. -T

The big one would have to be done by a professional

One piece at a time
You don't think we'd go two posts in a row without putting her in, do you?
A rope saved us (and the shed)

Gettin' it down...and Lindsey always makes me feel stronger than I really am

Smile...you're on camera!
3 down
Adding one more helper

All walls accounted for

What's next?

Now it's starting to look like a shed

Look who got into the act

Phase 2 Complete - No, it's complete, trust me

You don't really think we'd put just one picture of her in this post after excluding her in the last one, do you?

Loving the attention from cousin Kylie

Starting Phase 2

After overcoming adversity and completing Phase 1, we began Phase 2...only to run to a familiar problem of the season - the rain. -T

We have a wall!
It seems smaller with walls

And then the rains came
