The Difference Between Living With Mom and Dad by Mae

I guess it's my turn to post on the blog, so as I was brainstorming what to post, I thought of what I feel many people are curious about. Many times people think, "Mae, what is it like living with your mom? Or Mae, is it scary living with your dad?" Well, let me just say that I do like living with both Mom and Dad...when it comes to comparing them though, things are just...well...different. -M

Here is my life living with Mom.

Mom always makes sure I'm in cute outfits and when I wear them, she takes pictures of me. I LOVE getting pictures taken of me.

With mom, I always look beautiful because she always makes me look beautiful and I love that!

I mean you would never know from these pictures that I drool like nobody's business!

She takes me on stroller rides and I'm always so warm, dry, and comfortable.

This stroller ride was simply to the back yard. She didn't even make me do anything! She insisted I could just sit and watch her...so I did.

Again, stroller rides with Mom are always warm, dry, and happy...some times she even takes me to the mall!

I have found people have a hard time not buying me things when I go to the mall.

When I shop with the girls, they really respect my opinion on dresses. "Aunt Kylee, I like the blue one better."

Mom seems to ALWAYS be the one feeding me. Sometimes she gives me stuff that's not white though and I'm a little unsure about that kind of stuff. It always makes me feel better though and I usually stop crying once she's done shoving it in my mouth.
Mom is always so relaxing. She reads to me which I just love! I always want to grab the book but I never seem to be able to.

I learn new things with Mom. Here I learned how to resist toys! I look at it and then turn myself the other direction. Mom says she's teaching me self control.
See...self discipline...all Mom! Even when I have "uh-oh" moments, Mom always seems so happy. Dad...not so much.

"Uh oh, Mom! That totally went everywhere!"

But Mom always just laughs and yells for Dad to bring the camera!

And remember...with Mom, stroller rides are always warm, dry, and happy!

Then there is my life with Dad!

Every now and then Dad is around to give me baths...or so I think. Dad tends to disappear when he gives baths so I have basically learned when Dad is giving the bath - I just need to make sure to literally just keep my head above water. "Um Dad...I think I'm slipping."

He always seems to be around when anything happens though and then we laugh...we always laugh. Some people would look at this dreary, rainy day as not a good day for Mae to be out. I hate that! I love being out. Lucky for me, Dad sees this as a day of opportunity.

So he gives me a pep talk, whether I'm in a good mood or a bad mood...and off we go! And I love it!

But Dad thinks spiking my hair, because it got all wet in the rain, is really great. I tried to be upset, but I couldn't help but agree!

Stroller rides with Dad are the best!

Dad finally realized I might be cold, so, he tried to cover me up with a burb cloth. Hmm...no one ever said Dad was the brightest. This is me laughing at Dad...because that's what we do. When I fall or cry, Dad laughs at me, so when he does something bone-headed, I laugh at him. It all seems to even out.

The last picture previously of my details about living with Mom was actually after this exact stroller ride with Dad. Mom brought me a blanket because the burb cloth just wasn't working very well it seemed. I just kept kicking that sucker right off...it wasn't really keeping me warm anyway.

So, like I said...living with Mom and Dad is different, but it's always fun!
