Kitchen Day 20 - Officially gutted...and a little bit refilled

Look at our dinner table! Plus, the SUPER Susan isn't really in, but she looks good where she will sit eventually. Oh and if you're confused on Susan...apparently she's not lazy, she's SUPER! -T

Fancy!
Level, but too low.
She is beautiful!
This day really hit our garage hard...as now we only have room for one car. All cabinets are offically out, plus the dishwasher and range. Since the countertop guys are coming Tuesday, we had to get a start on the base cabinets. We didn't get any of those put in. BUT...we did get the two so-called (seemingly) easiest wall cabinets put up. We also got a lot of squeeks in the floor taken care of - Brian's specialty!
Lindsey commands, I act, "Smile for the camera, Todd!"

Now what do we do with it?

We now have to get the scratch on Lindsey's car fixed. Haha...just playin'...THAT would have truly stunk!

Speaking of stunk...how do you make a fart noise on the computer? Brrrr!? No that's the cold noise. Maybe I'll make a poll to be able to vote on.

Remember that old nasty dishwasher we used to have?

Seriously, how can I make the "boom boom" sound on a computer!?

Look really closely and you can see the screws preventing squeeks..well, at least in this spot the squeeks have been helped.

You can see them better in this spot...the WORST squeeking spot in the kitchen.

But not the worst anymore!

Good thing we got some cabinets up or nobody would really know this was a kitchen.

Imagine doing this on your back, pushing up. I know right!?

What's another word for LEVEL BABY!?

"Flush," "Flat," "Smooth" is what a thesauras says...I think I'll go with SMOOTH BABY!

Kitchen Day 19 Part 2 - If anything in here was even, it would be uneven

Fa la la la la our Christmas present arrived...Brian. Our great Christmas present this year from Beth and Brian was help to put up our cabinets. We started with the corner cabinet. The space at the top is big because the soffits are, putting it mildly, off. Let's do the math on this one, since the original builders probably couldn't figure this one out on there own:

Total time spent putting cabinets up = 2 Hours 30 Minutes
Number of Cabinets put up = 2
Average amount of time putting each cabinet up = 1 Hour 15 Minutes

So, my job was to hold the cabinet up. It wasn't what I would call the most fun that I've had. You know that game where you push really hard to both walls of a door way, release after 30 seconds, and then watch your arms raise up on their own? Well, that's almost exactly how this was...except it was like 10 minutes and they don't raise up after 10 minutes they just crash to the floor. Lindsey did a good job encouraging me. I wouldn't say it really helped, but it did make me smile. We tried to put up another cabinet, but the soffit was about a half inch lower from one end of the cabinet to the other. So a decision had to be made. Since it was 11:30 and my arms were still lying on the ground...Lindsey sent everyone to bed. So anyway, by night's end - 2 cabinets down 14 to go! - T

The cabinets came down in a hurry - 3 cabinets down - 26.7 seconds...2 cabinets up - 2 Hours 15 Minutes, 54.9 Seconds. I think I'd rather do demolition.

I wouldn't let Lindsey take my picture struggling, so you just get the end result, but please don't look at the tops of the cabinets, look at the bottom instead! Top=Issues, Bottom=Even
Booo on the 3rd cabinet!
Our cabinets don't really match very well.

Kitchen Day 19 Part 1 - Kitchen Empty = Family Room/Living Room Full

This day started with the cleaning and taking out of drawers. All dishes and anything else not named "cabinets" (plus dishwasher, stove) was removed. It has made our house an utter disaster. -T

If they only knew what was coming.

Empty now...and still will be later tonight.

The dining room doesn't do the rest of the house justice for looking like a train wreck.

We finally get to get rid of that hideous little silver thing connected to nothing (cut of pipe) to the left of the sink. See it?

All empty...and we've chosen to stop here and not show you the rest of the house.

Baby Schlenk

We got the news that Lindsey is pregnant and due October 15th!!! We are very excited. Although, I have to say, I was a little concerned knowing how much of a Roswell (former TV show with aliens) fan Lindsey is and then the ultrasound came back like this. I'm not quite sure what to make of this. -T

Easter Fun

We had fun with some of the nieces and nephews that came for an Easter egg hunt in our yard. Lindsey loved the fact that little ones were making use of our big yard. It WAS pretty daggon fun. -T

This picture makes it look like just adults were looking, but it was really just the kids.

The one on the bird feeder was the second to last one to be found.
Exciting times

Brother helps sister...so Christ-like

This is one of my favorite pictures I got. She was paying no attention to me and then as I pushed the button on the camera, I got this!

Look how happy my cute little wife is!

Look how happy the kiddos are!

The littlest ones seemed to enjoy it all as well. One is trying to get in our cabinets though!

Cabinets and Flooring!

Our cabinets and floor arrived! I'm going to go ahead and say it probably will look better in the kitchen than it does in the dining room. -T

Our dining room table is in there somewhere.
I wanna say we have more cabinets than will fit in our kitchen.

Seriously...I think we bought too many.

They wouldn't even all fit in the dining room!

Our flooring...it's bigger than this though I promise.

Spring Confusion

Spring normally is the time for rebirth. Not in our yard! We put to rest two "trees" in our yard, and when I say "we," that's referring to Papaluh Spjut (he had Lindsey's permisson if you were wondering). -T

To the right you can tell what it used to look like in this spot.
To the left you can tell what it used to look like in this spot.

The roots were getting caught up in the tiller. It's kinda like trying to clean Kylee's hair out of the vacuum...so I've heard.

Down she goes in front of the garage as well.
Kylee's not the only one who gets distracted by her cell phone.
She was almost dead anyway.

Kitchen Day 18 - Painting Round 1

Dad came over during the afternoon when no one was home to put a first coat of paint on. We realized that our walls are just not in very attractive shape. Maybe wallpaper was torn off and just painted over instead of smoothed out once upon a time? Who knows? Regardless, the first coat went on great and looks very good. You can't tell where things used to be, i.e. former walls. -T

The color is cottage white if you were wondering.

Can you tell where the plug used to be?

Can you see where the holes once were?

Peep holes in the soffit? Not anymore!

We should get my dad to paint more in our house! Oh wait...he's already done 4 rooms prior to this one.
