4th of July Festivities

With cousins in town and dangerously hot weather it could only mean one holiday - the 4th of July!  On 4th of July Eve we attended Madeira's parade with a lot of family and a lot of cooling devices. Last year Mae was not a fan of the overly loud firetrucks.  This year was no different.  Anna, well, she just seemed bored as she never even knew we left the house.  The rest of us just survived the heat.  On the 4th of July, we headed to Aunt Beth's and Uncle Brian's for a grill out, fun, and root beer/cream soda floats. -T

She did like the glow in the dark bracelet on the way home though!  Driving past the fireworks an hour before they started was the closest we got to real fireworks.

Questions About Pictures

Here is Mae, with her scraggly hair and eating plastic food.  Often times I have questions though when I see pictures and for this picture my question is simply this...could our house be that dirty that we have spider webs growing on our rocking chair? -T

So we always believed in the theory that it's harder to take pictures of your 2nd child than your 1st, not because you love them less or because they're not as cute, simply because the demands of two wears you out more and you just don't have the same motivation as the first.  Once we had our 2nd kid, we still believed in this theory.  So, this is just some random shots of Anna soon after she was born without the fun delivery marks. -T

Potty Training is Easy

Who said potty training was difficult?  Not for our first born...she made it look easy. -T

Life Back to Normal

Once Anna was born, it was a time for adjustment for everyone.  The person we worried most about was Mae.  We'd say she did just fine. -T

After about 6 hours, Lindsey was ready to go home. They made her stay 24. So you can imagine that when we were there 24 1/2 hours, because the nurses were dragging their feet, we were real antsy to leave. Anyway, after a night apart (Lindsey with Anna, and me at home with Mae), we were glad to pack up and be together at home. -T

It's A(nother) Girl - Anna Lucia

June 15, 2012 at 2:16pm Anna Lucia Schlensker greeted us.  Lindsey was awesome!  Dani, our nurse, labeled Lindsey as her "favorite patient of the week."  We didn't think there was any way Lindsey would push less than the 15 minutes she did with Mae, but in less than 2 minutes of pushing, Anna arrived.  Anna weighed in at 7lbs 9oz and was 21 inches long.  Many commented how long she was - which is always a welcomed comment in my eyes.  It was a great day and Mae LOVES her new baby sister. -T
