Rain is Better Than Snow

So many people want snow in December.  In our house, we always prefer the rain. -T

Christmas time can provide the means to make fun objects like an umbrella.  Mom always says she's a problem solver and not creative - I'm pretty sure this proves she is both.

Weird girl likes the opening credit scene more than anything

Which is why we have to replay it like 3 or 4 times before we move on to anything else in the movie

The Game is Losing Steam

I think this darn game might FINALLY be over.  Anna still has fun with it (or she might be super excited it's lost it's fun?) but it seems like Mae isn't as excited with it anymore. -T

EASY with the grumpy, chubby-faced look, Mae!

I think she is saying "YEA! It's over!  This game was getting so old!"

Super Anna!

"How many of the same picture can Mom take?" -Anna

I think she wants to play football instead - here's her "holding" call

"Seriously, Mom?  30 of these same shots?"

Who Has "No Pants" Now?

Mae wanted to put her pants on by herself.  She is very smart, but this wasn't her best, or brightest, moment. -T

The Big Mouth

Anna's big mouth creates some pretty huge smiles and some pretty good pictures. -T

I wonder if she can fit BOTH fists in her mouth

Lindsey can even get her to smile when she's got a mess all over her face

She likes mealtime with Mom

Election Day

Our girls had their first Election Day.  We were so very glad to have all the campaigning over and done with and were ready to move on.  When you have a two-year old that knows who Chuck Todd is, you've seen to much political coverage.  We didn't even have to prompt her - she saw and out came "Chuck Todd!"  In the end, Mae was just glad to see both candidates were happy. -T

We weren't really even watching until we heard Mae say, "HAPPYYYYY!"  We quickly looked up and sure enough...

They got "I voted" stickers - they should have  received "I survived the eternity it took my parents to vote" stickers instead.  They were troopers.

What do Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, and Mae have in common? -T

Mae!  Show your face!

They are all a little scary without their makeup on. =)
Or...this is just what Mae looks like after a nap.

Conference Weekend

We headed to Grandma and Grandpa's for Saturday's sessions of General Conference.  We got some out of it, but we did enjoy ourselves and Mae of course had a good time. The girls also enjoyed their time with Grandma Great. -T

We chose to try and take a nap between sessions, Mae had other plans

Maybe this will inspire her to want to cut our grass soon

Happy Anna with Grandma G and Grandma

Anna...try to get everyone to look at the camera

So close

Snacks and drink?  Or just making the ice from the drink a snack?

Yummy

She did entertain herself at times - including pulling this rug to the basement for a blanket

Annalyzing Our 2nd Born

No, I have no interest in really analyzing Anna, but we do enjoy looking at fun pictures of our happy little baby girl. -T

Waiting for Dad to do something funy

I am very entertaning, what can I say!?

Waiting again...

It was just a joke I am SORRY!  (Actually, this was a sneeze)

Looking for Mom

Happy to find her sweet mama

Whoaaaa...I don't even know

Happy Anna

Winding down

Ready for sleep

Virginia Trip 2012 - Day 3: The Non-Fun With the Fun

The scriptures teach us about "Opposition in all things," and that we can't understand good unless we know bad.  That's why family picture day makes the rest of the trip seem so great. We suffer through a stress filled morning and then really enjoy the rest of the day. The highlight was when Mae got caught in the fly trap.  It was the sticky papered kind and well let's just say we had to pull Mae out of her sock to get her untrapped.  So if you're wondering, that's why she's pictured dancing in only one sock. -T

Look how excited Anna is for family pictures

Saving smiles for later?

Sisters

Love these moments

I think Anna might be mocking my 7th grade picture

Cousin Kylie and Anna

As evident in this picture...picture day is stress day

The Schlenskers 2012
Mom warmin' up the horse for Mae

She didn't want to go but we threw her on anyway

She warmed up to it

Uncle Scott even got her to pet the horse

But she liked his hat more

And she liked watching from a distance even better

A girl, a ball, and a dream

She might need better shoes for playing eventually

Daddy still has hops!

Family Dance Night?

Now THIS is more Mae's thing...even having to dance with only one sock

She just let her hair down and jumped right in to this activity

It was more than just the kids getting into it

The parents did as well

"Dude, can you believe our moms?  This dancing game used to be cool up until that last picture."
