Virginia Trip 2012 - Day 5: The Drive Home
The only catastrophe of the trip came on the drive home BEFORE all the twists and turns of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Mae got sick and puked. In her defense, Lindsey and I felt car sick too, but we were able to hold it down. Poor thing. Lindsey caught a bunch of it in a plastic bag, but some of it didn't make it in. It stunk and took awhile to clean up. I was trapped in the back and just laid my head with Anna. Because of the lengthy cleanup we missed church and drove on through. After that, it was a pretty smooth ride back. Anna was fine and Mae was entertained JUST long enough by some musicals. She was a little antsy the last little bit, but Fraulein Maria saved us. We didn't take any pictures - especially of the puke - but we did take a picture of Mae in the morning sound asleep trying to keep the light out of her eyes. -T
Virginia Trip 2012 - Day 4: The Non-Adventurous Fun
Mae was many times napping and we didn't make it to the pool with the others. I want to say, "she didn't know what she was missing," but I think she knew exactly what she was missing and was fine with it. Lindsey and I took her to the pool on the last and coolest day we were there. The water was cold but that was the furthest thing from Mae's worries. By the end she just wanted to watch Daddy go down the slide over and over again from the side of the pool. I tried to keep it entertaining. I did take her down the slide a couple times which I think she enjoyed the actual 5 second ride, but before and after she did not. -T

Virginia Trip 2012 - Day 3: The Non-Fun With the Fun
The scriptures teach us about "Opposition in all things," and that we can't understand good unless we know bad. That's why family picture day makes the rest of the trip seem so great. We suffer through a stress filled morning and then really enjoy the rest of the day. The highlight was when Mae got caught in the fly trap. It was the sticky papered kind and well let's just say we had to pull Mae out of her sock to get her untrapped. So if you're wondering, that's why she's pictured dancing in only one sock. -T

Virginia Trip 2012 - Day 2: Unadventurous Day for Mae
So what we already knew, was on full display on our first full day at the farm. Mae is not very brave or adventurous. Also, sorry Anna, but you'll have to wait until next year when you're walking and doing things before you get many pictures taken of you here. As Grandma Weez always says, "Every dog has his day." -T
"Car!" She looked adventurous in the beginning.
She seemed to like the toy horses in the beginning
But that quickly changed
And she wanted off after about 30 seconds
She loves horses in pictures much more than in 3-D
Papa D provided the comfort
The chickens were at a perfect distance and caged in so they were okay with Mae
She liked the "cars" best not in motion
She always finds the dogs
And speaking of dogs, this looks like something you'd find on Scooby Doo
Pepe loves to take Mae on things

Virginia Trip 2012 - Day 1: Easier Travels
We always look forward to the "Schlensker Reunion" every year, but this year we were a little hesitant with a newborn less than a month old and traveling with Mae. Papa D and Grandma Weez stepped up though and we rented a van and traveled together. What an AWESOME blessing that was. We made good time, Mae was happy, Anna was asleep most of the time, and it went as well as it possibly could have. -T
