We now understand why Mae was borderline boring on her 1st birthday.  She doesn't really like those kind of messes.  She was really disturbed at watching cousin Nathan make a mess on his 1st birthday.  If she only knew...it's more entertaining that way.  You're a crowd-pleaser, Mae!  You should have made a mess on your first birthday! -T

Officially Two

On Mae's official birthday (which was luckily a Saturday), we started the festivities early.  Lindsey put candles in her bread at breakfast, which she was fine with.  Grandma, Grandpa, and Grandma Great came over for lunch festivities (we had a reception to go to in the evening).  She enjoyed all the great gifts she got, but she did lose it when the ice cream cake was put in front of her.  We don't think it was the flames, we think it might have been the whipped cream (which she had a traumatic experience with Grandma and whipped cream a few weeks back.  We don't really know.  What we do know is that she got over it and it was a great day. -T

With Grandma Weez and Papa D leaving town, we celebrated Mae's 2nd birthday with my side of the family early.  Our little girl is growing up! -T

For his birthday, Anna and Mae made cookies for Papa D (with assistance from Mom).  They made hearts and balls and iced them. -T

A Very Pepe Birthday

So for reasons unknown, Mae calls Morgan Pepe (pronounced pep-Ay).  No clue.  Morgan takes it in stride though and we all enjoyed the festivities including some surprises. -T

Mom's Birthday

Mom's birthday is always a good time. We celebrated with Mom's family on her actual birthday and then Dad's family for Sunday dinner two days later. Mae has always been terrified over candles being blown out. With our Aunt Kylee/Mom joint cake, Mae lost it when the candles were blown out. Two days later though she was able to stay composed. Maturity! In the end though, Lindsey's birthday probably benefited me more than anyone. -T
