Cute Dress: Time for Pageants?

Grandma made Mae a new dress which she Toddlered and Tiarraed for us. -T

If she were on the show I'd be trying to get her to smile more for the judges right here.

I'm not sure the judges are liking it

There we go...now we're getting some of the classic moves down
One last smile for the judges

And now she's done...and I'll give her the pony I promised her since she did a good job.

Game Day: Reading

We've found a good way to get an advantage on our opponent is just to put Mae next to them during pregame warm-ups. She's very entertaining and most importantly distracting. Even Reading's scorekeeper couldn't walk by without being distracted. We also see a glimpse of where Mae learns some of the things she didn't learn from us. End result: Win. -T

Mae: The Opponent Distraction
(better with sound...but it didn't show up)

Emily tries to teach Mae, "You can't see me." Mae just thinks she's lost her mind.

(Not sure why the lack of sound)

She eventually warmed up to it though...but she still thinks Emily is crazy.

Papa D and Grandma Weez get their dance on with Mae

(it would be better had the sound been with it)

Mae learns how to "rock"

The Schlensker Home: Where Everyday is a Game Day

In this video Mae shows off her many talents: basketball, other athletic moves, hustle, dancing, booing, biffing it, and showing us all how cute she is. -T

Shwing

Mae loves to SHWINGGG! And although she didn't say it at the time these pictures were taken, (now that I'm posting this 3 months after the fact), she now tells us SHWINGG all the time! She loves to go "SAUCE" (outside) and SHWINGGG (swing). -T

"Ummm...I'm not moving."

"Oh, heeeere we go!"

"Aaaaahhhhh"

"This is AMAZING, Mom!"

"Uh oh"

Puking

Just playin'

She was just trying to get it to move on her own I guess

Church Ball

With the social kid Mae is...balls always take priority for her. Wait...what's that line? Oh yeah..."THAT'S my girl!" -T

It all begins with a ball and a dream...although I really hope church ball is the farthest thing from her dreams

Watch as she makes the tough decision: Friends vs. Balls

America's Funniest Home Videos when she pelts this kid in the face

Okay so that didn't really happen, but you can imagine how funny it would have been had she done it.

Look how fundamentally sound she is...CHIN IT MAE!

"No Mom, I'm happy with this ball."

Back into the Season

With the holidays in the past, it was back to the hardwood and the stretch run. Mae loved game days! Whether it was home games are away games, she was always given special privileges.

"Dad, did you see that girl shoot? This game is going to be easy!"

A basket full of balls...and Mae.

This was not her favorite activity.

Kickin' it with Coach Papa D

She can always make people smile

She just wants to watch the game sometime, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices when you hold celebrity status

A Few Days of Winter

For the first time in a good number of years, it seems like, we had a mild winter. That doesn't mean we didn't have cold weather and snow. That also doesn't mean that Mae didn't want to go outside despite the frigid weather. She loves to be outside. -T

Eagerly looking out...why she's holding snakes in her hand I have no idea

Studying the door to see if she can just do it herself

"Now, was this so hard to bring me out here?"

Christmas 2012 Comes Early

So we enjoyed Christmas so much that we decided "Why wait a whole year?" We waited a week. Actually, Grandma and Grandpa came back in town and we celebrated Christmas 2011 a little late (On New Year's Day) with them and Aunt Kylee. Now as I'm writing this I realized we had so much fun that we forgot to take very many pictures, but we do have some video footage. -T

Excited for Round 2!

If all gifts that she opens takes this long...Christmas might last until the actual Christmas 2012

She loved the swing

She didn't want to get out

This proves it

She got real cowboy boots!

Filling the space

I cannot bear to have that snot-nosed picture be the opening to our blog just because Todd is done for the night. So here is a very short video that he for some reason didn't put in under 2011. It's from Dec 12 and yes, it's from the ward Christmas party. Enjoy.

Are you kidding me? No sound?! Oh well, it still served its purpose by bumping that most disgusting picture down.

Ringing in the New Year

So it's 2012, but I am starting it in March. So, I have a lot to catch up on. Anyway, what post would be appropriate to start this great new year of 2012? A picture of Mae? Always great. Nah, I've decided to start off the new year with a Lindsey Line. I was in another room from where Lindsey and Mae were when I hear very loudly...

"AHH! I just kissed her BOOGERS!"

(Lindsey thinks "boogers" and "snot" are the same)

Note: This is not Mae and therefore not the actual boogers Lindsey kissed

Who Needs Gifts When You Can Clean Up Paper

Christmas was good to us this year. Mae thought her gifts were...nice...but what she REALLY loved was cleaning up wrapping paper and throwing it in the trash bag. She wouldn't let anyone move on with the next gift until she cleaned up the paper and threw it in the trash. The whole day was nice from going to church with Grandma Weez and Papa D, to our own Christmas, to lunch and Christmas festivities with the Poe's and Schlensker's, to a call to Sister Jackie on the mish. It was really a nice day. We did miss Grandpa, Grandma, and Aunt Kylee, but them not being there just meant Christmas was extended to another day. -T

Aren't Christmas morning pictures usually hideous? We took advantage of possibly the best Christmas morning picture of her life

She was a little unsure about the whole stocking thing

Trying to figure it out

Hair ties from Santa!

I'm not really sure what was so funny...we gave her no gag gifts

Is she still laughing at us? Or saying, "You guys are both the MAN!"

Cute in pigtails

After church...ready to start opening presents! (or throwing wrapping paper away)

"Dad, I would like to throw your paper away for you."

I guess "fun" is in the eye of the beholder

Okay...new pajamas...not wrapping paper.

Lindsey decided to put her new pajama skirt on over her church clothes. I kept thinking she reminded me of someone...

...and then it came to me...

"Put me in coach!"

Ready for the next phase of Christmas day...

...where we apparently didn't take any pictures.

(But we did have a really nice time with the Poe's and Schlensker's)

I pulled my new electric razor out from Lindsey to look at it. All of the sudden Mae grabbed it and started rubbing it on my cheeks.
She's very smart

She loves her new boots
Running to the end of 2011!

Final Post of 2011

See you in 2012!

(which won't be long since I didn't actually post this until almost 3 months into 2012)
